Hundreds of congregations and individuals around the country have already taken the Paris Pledge to reduce their carbon output in their houses of worship by at least 50% by 2030. Will your faith community join them?

Climate negotiators from around the world met in Paris in 2015 for COP 21.  Interfaith Power & Light  conveyed to these world leaders that thousands of faith communities have ALREADY committed to a 50% reduction in their carbon output and we want the world’s leaders to do the same.

Utah IPL wants 50 faith communities to make the Paris Pledge.  We will track and publish the names of each Utah faith community that makes this pledge.

When you sign the Paris Pledge,  Utah IPL and  IPL will add your name (BELOW) to the growing list of faith communities who have already made the Paris Pledge.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called on government and civil society leaders to bring bold initiatives and proposals to drastically lower climate emissions, saying, “I challenge you to bring to the Summit bold pledges. Innovate, scale up, cooperate, and deliver concrete action that will close the emissions gap and put us on track for an ambitious legal agreement.”
The Paris Pledge was announced by IPL’s Rev. Sally Bingham in response to this challenge.
This is very important for Utah and the World…please sign the Paris Pledge (HERE), to show the world that Utah’s faith communities are leading by example.
