Utah Interfaith Power & Light has made a commitment to do our part to save energy and help fight human induced climate change. With your help, we can do even more. Be part of our team and pledge to make your next light bulb one (or better yet, five) that's earned the government's ENERGY STAR® label for excellence in energy efficiency. The pledge is a simple but vital method of encouraging more people like you to commit to preventing greenhouse gases and saving energy resources, one light — one energy-saving step — at a time. And then...encourage your faith community to join our efforts! You qualify, simply by installing a CFL and spreading the word.
We are at 30+% of our goal of people to pledge to change at least one or more light bulbs. Even right now, before reaching this goal we will be making a big impact on our environment, currently potentially preventing more than 300,000+ pounds of greenhouse gas emissions & saving 200,000+ kWh of energy$.

The UN Environmental Sabbath - June 7 / 8
At least 10 Awards of up to $400 will be given to Faith Communities and to artists/composers for new, innovative and inspiring faith messages* and music compositions that express Climate Change, stewardship of Creation and/or sustainability of the planet issues.
At least 10 Awards of up to $400 will be given to Faith Communities and to artists/composers for new, innovative and inspiring faith messages* and music compositions that express Climate Change, stewardship of Creation and/or sustainability of the planet issues.
Awarded funds to Faith Communities must be used to make improvements to the Faith Community to mitigate climate change such as purchasing insulation, ceiling fans, energy efficient appliances, CFL’s, making water wise improvements that save energy, etc.
*Sermons and Faith Messages include Homilies, Sacrament Meeting Speeches, Tafseers and similar presentations given now through June 15th .
